“The modern architecture reflects our quest for transparency, quality, sustainability and customer proximity,” explained Ivano Mazzoletti, Managing Director of Endress+Hauser Italy, at the official opening of the new building. The ceremony was attended by guests of honor from government and industry as well as Endress+Hauser management and employees. Situated on the outskirts of Milan, the three-story building is nestled in a park-like setting and offers 6,000 square meters of floor space.
While approx. 130 employees enjoy a contemporary office environment, customers can expect an excellent infrastructure featuring a showroom, training facilities, auditorium and restaurant. The building has a two-level underground parking garage. “The new building allows us to address the needs of our domestic and international customers even better than before,” emphasized Ivano Mazzoletti. He plans to expand the range of customer training programs and eventually augment calibration services.
The managing director is proud of the energy-saving building technology that features geothermal probes to support cooling and heating, plus a photovoltaic unit on the roof that generates electricity. Rainwater is collected and used as service water. The massive facade, as well as sophisticated building automation that also controls the sun blinds, lead to further energy savings.
“We reduced our energy needs by 60 percent compared to the old headquarters,” said Ivano Mazzoletti. “Three-fourths of the energy is derived from renewable sources.” Endress+Hauser has maintained a presence in Italy since 1974. Revenue-wise, the country is one of the globally active Group’s largest markets. The sales center has 188 employees, 50 of whom work in the services department.
In addition to the headquarters in Cernusco sul Naviglio near Milan, the company operates sales offices in Venice, Turin, Modena, Macerata and Rome. Southern Italy, Sardinia and Sicily are handled through representatives.
