While digitalization makes it possible to acquire, transmit and process increasing volumes of data, value arises only when the right information is derived and made available. Under the title “How data creates new value”, participants at the Endress+Hauser technical press event, which was held on 10 and 11 October 2022, discussed how users in the process industry can utilize data to gain new insights into their processes and optimize the operation of their plants.
Rolf Birkhofer, Managing Director at Endress+Hauser Digital Solutions, provided an overview of what’s possible with data, both today and in the future, and where the limits and dangers lie. This was followed by a discussion of how Endress+Hauser is accelerating the digitalization of process engineering systems with the Netilion IIoT ecosystem. A further presentation dealt with how the Heartbeat Technology creates opportunities for gaining insights into sensors and processes.
The focus then turned to smart instruments, in which the data is no longer locked inside, as well as to the key Ethernet-APL technology, the intrinsically-safe data highway for the field level. Timothy Kaufmann from software company SAP then explained how partner companies work together to implement digitalization projects. Rounding out the program was a tour of the Endress+Hauser Flow production facilities and Endress+Hauser Digital Solutions.
More insights about the treasure trove of data can be found in the press kit, which can be downloaded from this page (only available in German).
